Kareena Misses Waxing Appointment
This isn’t a story about an aesthetic treatment gone horribly wrong. For those unfamiliar with Madame Tussauds, the London-based museum specializes in creating eerily lifelike, full-sized wax replicas of celebrities. Recently the museum has been contemplating adding to its Bollywood collection, which already features the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Hrithik Roshan. Bollywood royalty Kareena Kapoor was the frontrunner among celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Madhuri Dixit, and Rani Mukerji, but museum curators may have changed their minds due to some scheduling conflicts that would prevent the actress from attending the unveiling.
Reportedly, Madam Tussauds has been inundated with a flood of mails and letters from Kareena’s fans, requesting her likeness be placed in the museum. The latest addition from Bollywood was hunky actor Hrithik Roshan, who was added to the prestigious display in January 2011. The museum recently released a statement saying that the newest Bollywood addition to Madame Tussauds would be announced at International Indian Film Academy Awards in Toronto, which will take place from June 23rd to June 25th.
Kareena Kapoor is the granddaughter of legendary Bollywood film star Raj Kapoor. Additionally, her uncle Rishi Kapoor and sister Karishma Kapoor have also made their marks in Bollywood. Kareena has gained international acclaim for her amazing acting ability. If Kareena is chosen to have her likeness featured at Madame Tussauds, she will be the first to bring this distinct honour to the family.
