KJo Dumps Shahrukh for Salman
Friendship blossomed when Karan asked Salman to appear on Koffee with Karan. Salman apparently demanded a price for his interview in the form of a donation to his foundation. Karan declined to pay for Salman’s appearance but countered by offering the actor the lead in a new film directed by Rensil D’Silva.
Salman last worked with Johar in the 1998 smash hit Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. This would be the first time in 13 years that Johar has considered Salman for a lead role. The reason for this may be Salman’s recent successes in films like Wanted and Dabangg, which have transformed the actor’s image from chocolaty boy-toy to versatile action star.
Sources revealed, “after Kurbaan, Rensil decided to take on a fantasy-action film, along the lines of Ocean’s Eleven. When Johar learned about the script, he absolutely fell in love with it. Both Karan and Rensil felt Salman was perfect for the lead role.”
The news seems to validate the rumours that KJo and Shahrukh have had a serious falling out. It looks like the wheel of fortune is turning, and it’s Salman’s turn to be on top—at least where Johar is concerned.
