Kites closed the strip for filming
How do you justify the RS 100 crore that Big Picture spent to make the film Kites? You shut down the Las Vegas Strip for a few hours. If anyone has ever been to Las Vegas, you know it’s the city that never sleeps. So for a production to shut down The Strip is a pretty big deal.
It seems that Anurag Basu wanted his two stars, Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori, to be filmed in a soft bluish light that shows up in the early morning in Las Vegas. The other problem is that this only last for about 10 minutes.
Did Basu lose hope? No, because producer Rakesh Roshan came to the rescue. He got the permission of the city to shut down the strip for a few hours, no easy feat I’m sure, and made up the shot with the mandatory rain scene for every bollywood movie. A rain scene with Hrithik and Barbara? No wonder Hrithik’s wife was jealous during the filming of this film.
We’ll have to wait and see if shutting down Las Vegas for a few hours was worth it on May 21st.
